If you want to remove a Contact from Raynet, you have two options. You can either Delete it or Invalidate it. Deleting it is permanent. On the other hand, invalidating it will ensure that the Contact will not appear in list views, but it will still be stored in Raynet and you can recover it at any time.
Deleting a Contact
A Contact can be successfully deleted only if the History is empty. That means that there are no activities (Tasks, Meetings...) or other records (Deals, Quotes...) linked to it. Otherwise, you will get a pop-up warning, that the record cannot be deleted and you will need to remove the links first.
So if there is for example a Deal left in the History, you can click on it in the Contact history to get to the Deal detailed card. You need to remove the Contact from the Participants panel or from the blue Record Context window.
Once you have deleted the History, you can move on to deleting the Contact. Find this option by clicking on the three dots » Delete.
Invalidating a Contact
If you invalidate a Contact, it will no longer appear in list views. However, the invalidated Contact will stay in Raynet and you can renew its validity at any time, unlike when you delete it.
You can also invalidate Contacts that are linked to any activities or records in History. This makes it much faster and easier compared to deleting them. The invalidation itself can be done on the Contact detailed card, by clicking on the three dots » Invalidate.
It is also possible to invalidate multiple Contacts at once. Once you get to the list of Contacts, you need to select the Contacts you want to invalidate. You do this by using the checkbox in the list view. After selecting the Contacts, green buttons will appear above the list. Here, click on the Invalidate button » Invalidate.
In order to show invalidated Contacts in the list view, you must first pin the Validity filter. Click on the button with the pencil icon » Add more filters » Validity. Then click on this button and choose whether you want to show only invalid Contacts or all Contacts, including invalid ones. Invalid records are distinguished from other records by being grayed out.
