Trade Types is a feature in Raynet that helps you keep track of multiple types of business activities (e.g., Sales and Servicing). Use this feature to separate Deals by business activity type and define your own deal stages for each one. Stages show you the progression of a Deal.
In this article, you will find out how to:
Activating trade types
Activate the module by clicking on your name » Settings
Then select Record Settings » Deal.
Enable the Trade Types extension.
First, you need to name the group of stages you already use in Raynet. (e.g., Sales) and activate. Click on Edit Settings to access trade type settings and stage settings.
Now you can create another trade type, click the Add button and name the new type (e.g., Servicing).
In the trade type creation window, define the Deal stages.
Open stages show you the progression of the deal before it is closed (this includes all stages except Closed Won, Closed Lost, Cancelled). An overview of open Deals can be found, for example, on the Business Board, which we will talk more about later on. In the settings of each trade type, you can add any number of open stages.
Closed stages are set by default, so they cannot be modified or added. If you are closing a Deal, you select one of the three stages: Closed Won, Closed Lost, Cancelled.
For each stage, you can define the deal's probability of success throughout the whole process and select the color the stage will have assigned in Raynet.
You will be prompted to reload the application when returning to your CRM system.
Trade types and the business board
On the Business Board, you can filter Deals by trade type.
Simply select which trade type you want to see. Drag the mouse to easily move a Deal to another stage.
Default trade type
The default Trade Type can be set in your profile. This will ensure that when you open the Business Board, you will see the Deals that fall under the selected Trade Type. Click on your name » My Profile » Advanced Settings » Trade Type » select the trade type and Save. Once again, you will be prompted to reload the application.
If you create Deals through API, you can go back to Record Settings » Deal » Edit Settings » advanced settings to choose the default trade type here as well.
Deleting and invalidating a trade type
If you no longer use a Trade Type, you can delete it or invalidate it.
Deletion is permanent and all Deals under this Trade Type have to be transferred to another Trade Type first. We recommend using the Mass Edit feature to do this. Then just delete the Trade Type with the X.
By invalidating a Trade Type, you will ensure that this type will no longer be visible in Raynet, but Deals under this trade type will stay saved under it. You can renew the validity at any time.
After opening a Trade Type (via the pencil icon), you can modify individual Deal Stages in the same way. You can Edit, Invalidate or Delete a Stage. To delete it, you again need to transfer existing Deals from this stage to a different one.
To completely disable the Trade Types module, you need to transfer all Deals to one Trade Type that you want to keep (e.g., Sales). The other Trade Types needs to be deleted. Then the module can be disabled.
