The word Lead stands for any potential customer that shows interest in your product or service for the first time. Leads are used in Raynet when you do not want to have the prospect recorded in Accounts for the time being. For example, you first need to decide if this is a relevant business opportunity.
Convert the Lead to an Account or Contact as soon as it is certain that the Lead will become a business opportunity. You can create a Deal at the same time as converting. We will show you how to go about it in this article.
Converting a lead
Account and Contact
If you know the name of the company and the specific contact person, you can create a new Account and a Contact. In case you don't know any contact person, just create a new Account. The same goes the other way around. You can convert a Lead to a Contact only, without linking it to an Account, or you can directly link a Contact to an Account (whether existing or new).
- Deal: Although you cannot directly convert a Lead to a Deal, you can create a Deal in the process of converting the Lead to an Account or Contact. The Deal will be directly linked to the newly created records. The other option is to link the new records to an already existing Deal.

Creating a Task: You can create a Task similarly. For example, if you need to contact the Account the next day. No business opportunity will pass you by.
- Creating a Project: The option to create a project at the same time will only become available if Projects have been activated in Record Settings and you have also decided to check the box "Create a new deal at the same time". Use this option when you are creating a deal that may be the first one in a series of similar Deals, and you want to keep them all in one place - in one Project.
